Accident Caused by Icy Roads

Icy road conditions attributed to a head-on car crash Monday morning, the predicted winter storm was mainly rainy day in much of the region. The crash left a woman in critical condition.

State Police at Cobleskill said a 1999 Mercury sedan driven by Alexandria M. Richards, slid into the oncoming path of a milk tanker, driven by Dale Spaulding, on Route 10. Troopers said the southbound tanker hit the driver’s side door. Richard’s had to be extricated by the Sharon Fire Dept. using the Jaws of Life. She suffered internal injuries and was unconscious when taken to the hospital.

Spaulding was uninjured in the crash. No other details were available.
