The family of a woman who collapsed and died at Kings County Hospital, after not being seen for 24 hours, has reached a $2 million settlement with the city.

As Esmin Green, 49, collapsed and lay on the psychiatric hospital emergency room floor struggling to get up, she was ignored by employees and security guards.

She had been at the hospital for more than 24 hours when a video camera recorded her death last June.

An attorney for the family says they want anyone who committed a criminal act — which either led to Green’s death or attempted to cover it up — to be held criminally accountable.

In the aftermath of the tragic incident, the hospital has undergone major reforms, including better coordination with the mental health system and shortening the average emergency room wait time for psychiatric patients from 27 hours to eight hours.
