A subway in Brooklyn station, struck two transit workers, killing one in a construction accident. This is the second fatality involving a subway worker in less than a week.
The accident happened at around 4:10 pm on the northbound track of the G train. One of the workers was found dead under the train. He was dragged half the length of the station, the authorities said. The second worker was transported to Bellevue Hospital Center in critical condition.
The workers were part of a weekend construction project that was scheduled to end this weekend.
The president of the Metropolitan Transit Authority, the president of New Your City Transit and the Transit Union president, along with officials hurried to the station.
On Tuesday night, a subway train struck and killed a track worker near the Columbus Circle station. The worker, 41, stepped onto the downtown express track just as a No. 3 train was going through, about 11:20 p.m., officials said.
